If you or your loved one is suffering from a mental illness that is acute, if someone is suicidal for example, please seek help immediately from your nearest emergency room. Dr. Gottfried’s practice is happy to see you, but she is not able to intervene in an emergency, life threatening situations that requires immediate action. The only thing we can do is point you to the closest in person evaluation that can ensure your short-term safety.  If your life is not going the way you want or expected please don’t take the action of harming or killing yourself.  Most likely things will get better and there are always people who can and will help.  We all need help sometime.
